The team at Cartown are all about community, so when co-owner Stephen Coutts heard about the Kiwi Super Classic, he didn’t think twice about stepping up to be the naming rights sponsor of the inaugural event.

Stephen knows his way around horses – well, kind of. “I had a daughter who rode competitively and loved it,” he says. “As a company we believe in giving back – it’s a community responsibility. I like the idea of someone with the experience of Kevin (Hansen) running shows and creating something out of the norm here in Manawatu.”

He was really looking forward to the event, especially as it gave him a chance to introduce clients to something new and exciting.

“An event like this brings so much to our region and it’s great for the riding community to have new events to go to. Manfeild is a fantastic facility and it is good to see more people using it. We are very happy to support the Kiwi Super Classic and really do hope it grows into something amazing.”

Stephen bought into Cartown around 30 years ago and now co-owns Cartown with Glynn Theobold and Liam Nesbitt. “We have an amazing working relationship.”

He figures the best thing about Cartown is the culture. “When you deal with us you meet everybody,” he says. “We try and go above and beyond to make clients feel special and relaxed in transactions. It should be fun and easy.”

The Palmerston North business represents MG, GWM, Haval and Foton trucks – all come in electric, hybrid, diesel and petrol. “We rep them all.”

Cartown Kiwi Super Classic show director Kevin Hansen says he and wife Sue know only too well the calibre of service offered at the Palmerston North company.

“It is great to have Manawatu’s premier car business backing the Cartown Kiwi Super Classic. Stephen (Coutts) has been supportive with us from the get-go and we really appreciate that. We think Cartown is a perfect fit for our show.”
